BDEX (Big Data Exchange) is a US-based identity-resolution and data company founded in 2014 and based in South Florida (addresses across Miami, Coral Springs and Pompano Beach appear across sources). It bills itself as the first-ever Data Exchange Platform (DXP) and the creator of one of the most powerful and accurate identity graphs in the US market, and it is a three-time Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company. BDEX was founded by CEO David Finkelstein along with CDO Michael Aronov (with Stephen McKain also credited as a co-founder); Finkelstein and Aronov had previously built one of the country’s first internet service providers, National Internet Source, before founding the ad-targeting company Contextuads. A relatively lean company (around 12 employees), BDEX has raised roughly $1.7M, including backing from the RIT Venture Fund (Rochester Institute of Technology), where Finkelstein is an alumnus.
At its core, BDEX aggregates hundreds of premium data sources in real time into a single data infrastructure and applies AI and machine learning to resolve consumer identity. The BDEX Identity Graph validates more than 470 million hashed email–MAID–IP matches across the US by analyzing over 2 trillion identity signals each month, drawing on a base of 1.3 billion-plus email hashes, hundreds of millions of MD5 pairs, and thousands of consumer categories. This deterministic, cross-channel matching is designed for a cookieless future: instead of relying on third-party cookies, BDEX enriches clients’ first-party data, cleans and improves data quality, and expands reach through machine-learning lookalikes so marketers can distinguish likely buyers from unlikely ones and target them with real-time behavioral and intent signals. The company emphasizes privacy-compliant, largely anonymous data signals throughout.
BDEX delivers these capabilities through a portfolio of products: Identity Resolution / ID Graph for cross-channel matching; OmniSource IQ, its data-as-a-service (DaaS) offering; Omni IQ, a self-serve clean-room tool that lets marketers upload first-party data, build lookalike audiences and activate them anywhere in the adtech ecosystem; Custom Audiences; Developer APIs; and Omni Pixel for anonymous website-visitor identification. Data reaches customers via APIs, the clean-room platform, a web pixel and audience activation across the broader adtech ecosystem, with LiveRamp among its integration partners. BDEX serves adtech/martech platforms, brands, agencies, retailers, automotive and media companies — with brands “powered by BDEX” including Hulu, Paramount, CBS, ABC, MTV, USA Network, Sling, Cox and Whataburger. The company also runs the “Deconstructing Data” podcast as part of its thought leadership. Note: headquarters address, employee count, funding total and any formal certifications vary across sources and should be confirmed directly with BDEX before publication.
